Collision Reporting
The Collision Reporting tool is a guided workflow designed to help drivers capture all necessary and critical information in the stressful moments following a road traffic incident.
Starting a Report
Drivers can start a new report from the Report Collision tab in the main navigation. The form is broken down into logical steps to ensure no detail is missed.
- Incident Type: The first step is to classify the incident (e.g., collision with moving vehicle, hit and run, etc.). This helps tailor the rest of the form.
- Core Details: The user must record the date, time, and location of the incident. They can use their device's GPS to automatically fetch and set the location.
- Your Vehicle & Occupants: Details about the driver, any passengers, and any injuries sustained are recorded here. Photos of the damage to your own vehicle are also uploaded in this step.
- Third Party Details: If another vehicle was involved, their details (driver, vehicle, insurance) are captured here, along with photos of their vehicle's damage. Multiple third parties can be added.
- Scene & Statement: This step captures the driver's detailed statement of events, their assessment of responsibility, and information about road conditions, visibility, and police attendance. Photos of the overall scene are uploaded here.
- Witnesses: Independent witness details can be added.
- Roadworthiness: The driver must declare if their vehicle is still safe and legal to drive. If not, they must provide details of the fault.
- Declaration: The final step is to confirm a legal declaration about the accuracy of the report before submission.
Viewing Collision Reports
Managers can view all submitted reports from the Collision Reports page. This provides a table of all incidents which can be filtered by vehicle, driver, or date range. Clicking "View Report" opens a detailed dialog with all the captured information and photos.
Dashboard Warnings
When a new collision report is submitted, a high-priority warning will immediately appear on the main dashboard, ensuring that management is instantly aware of the incident and can take appropriate action.
Common Collision Questions
How do I record a vehicle collision in the driver app?
If an accident occurs, drivers can select the Report Collision tab to start a guided, step-by-step reporting workflow. The app will prompt the driver to log the exact location (with automated GPS coordinates), capture photos of all vehicles involved, detail road visibility conditions, note any emergency services attending, and write a statement. This ensures all critical insurance details are recorded immediately.
What details are required for a third-party fleet accident report?
When reporting a collision involving other motorists, our guided form prompts the driver to capture third-party registration numbers, driver contact details, insurer details, and witness statements. Crucially, the app also has dedicated fields to upload photos of the third-party vehicle's damage and the overall road scene to protect you against fraudulent claims.
Does a collision report automatically mark a vehicle as VOR?
During the collision report workflow, the driver is asked to declare if the vehicle is still safe and legal to drive. If they declare it unsafe, the vehicle is automatically flagged as **Collision VOR** (Vehicle Off Road) on the manager’s dashboard, preventing other drivers from accidentally allocating or driving it.
